Annual 'Gear n Beer' 5k Road Race

Lace up your running shoes for the Mews Tavern Gear ‘N’ Beer Road Race 2024! We are excited to once again be partnering with our friends at South County Health.

Over 2,000 runners, family and friends are expected on Sunday, November 24th, and you won’t want to miss out on all the fun!

Registration fee includes: Race Shirt (register early for shirt guarantee), post-race buffet, a variety of beer & cider plus great raffle items from our sponsors!

Race is Rain or Shine & a charity event, Sorry - No Refunds.

Due to the popularity of this event and the space needed to ensure the comfort and safety of its participants, we will be limiting the race to 2000 people this year!! Register early for a guaranteed spot!

Race Starts @ 12:00pm > Awards Party & Gigantic Raffle Immediately Following Race!

THIS YEAR’S RACE THEME - FLASHBACK TO THE 80’S!

Race @ 1:30pm (approx.) - starting at the Ocean Mist

READ CAREFULLY AS THE REGISTRATION GUIDELINES HAVE CHANGED:

PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED:

  • ONLINE: Online registration is OPEN - CLICK HERE *REGISTRATION CLOSES AT NOON ON THURSDAY, SEPT 19TH

  • ON-SITE: Registration will be held Saturday, September 21st from noon-2pm at the Mews Tavern

  • BIB + TEE SHIRT PICK UP: Saturday, September 21st from noon - 2pm - Pick up your boat # and race tee the day before the race and get a FREE PINT at our outside bar!

*Bib’s can also be picked up on race day across from the Mist beginning at noon - but there will be no registration day-of

IMPORTANT INFO FROM THE HARBOR MASTER:

 Changes to RI boating safety regulations for the 2023 boating season effective 4/2/2023

Mandatory PFD Wear for all paddlecraft:

All operators & passengers of canoes, kayaks, sailboards, kiteboards, paddleboards, and any other paddlecraft shall wear a US Coast Guard approved Pfd at all times while underway regardless of age
